LGGS

LGGS, originally uploaded by Lancaster Today.

I posted a B&W photo of Lancaster Girls' Grammar School way back on the 9th of July here. That was just as the girls were finishing an academic year, and here they are about to begin a new one. Doesn't time fly? Young Yasmin will join them next week for the first time, so the place is on my mind... (btw, taken a couple of days ago - it's raining today).

  1. A very imposing and quite scary-looking building. But maybe not when the kids are all over the place. I hope Yasmin likes it and adjusts quickly and well!

  2. What a beautiful old building! It is quite imposing. I'll bet the inside is beautiful too.

  3. The brilliant blue sky off sets the creepiness of the building. Great artistic angle.

  4. Yes Lois, it is lovely inside too, although it's a working school so pretty busy as you can imagine. Funny you and Hilda should think it's scary/imposing, as the first time I posted a photo people had similar reactions (although my photo then was designed to bring them out I suppose). Thanks Sean and goguchi - I'm glad to now have a wideangle lens that allows this sort of thing! :)

  5. I don't find the correct term to describe what I think... but some Academic administrators such as university presidents are not typically included in this use of the term academic, although many administrators hold advanced degrees and pursue scholarly researchers. 2j3j
